Sometimes moments come along when you can be close to animals in their natural habitats. One such magical moment came along for me today while sea kayaking in Delaware Bay.

He is a professor at the University of California, Davis; his expertise is California butterflies, especially the ones in northern California that he has studied for the last 37 years.
Solar power and ‘green mortgages’

All the sunshine and heat has me thinking about solar power: It makes a ton of sense, but is it economical? Can I afford it? Turns out that solar hot water is the place to start.
