The Story of Stuff is not only an informative look at our way of life, which is all about the production, merchandising, consumption and disposal of consumer goods, but it is also one of the most charming animations I have ever seen on the subject. In a simple and entertaining way, Annie Leonard presents a portrait of the origins and destiny of all the stuff we use, abuse and eventually refuse, and suggests ways to move us into a more sustainable system of living. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this short video. I think every science teacher should show it in every classroom every year. I think every parent should watch it as well. Together we can come up with solutions. Together we can move from linear thinking (cradle to grave) to circular thinking (cradle to cradle). Together we can change the world from where it is and where it is headed to where it should be and where it will continue to sustain our children’s children’s children.

I also love that there is a follow-up article on what YOU and I can do NOW.
