TED is one of our most inspiring and hopeful sources of information on the web, hosting video talks by the best thinkers around. E.O. Wilson was awarded the 2007 TED Prize, and in his acceptance speech he makes a plea on behalf of insects and small creatures upon which he reminds us we completely depend. It is impossible to listen to this living legend in the field of Biology without wanting to join his intellectual quest and promote his suggestions. Whatever the case, he convinces me that we simply must get a grip and hold onto it. Within his talk he presents a most entertaining video about the wonderful and sexy world of microorganisms, complete with jazz in the background playing “One More for the Road.”
