Before the bovine, there was the bison belching methane into the atmosphere. Much ado about nothing. Termites are our real enemy. Worlwide, termites emit more methane than all other living sources combines.

Do you think the Orkin man could help?

I thought the article was goofy too, but just goofy enough to be food for thought. All these little fixes are indeed going to add up to the continuation of our human culture, and maybe a viable cow population too -- one that is not bred for the slaughterhouse in such mass quantities! We already know we need to eat more vegetables and fruit, and less meat. The US will never look like India with cows enjoying a sacred status and wandering the streets, but maybe less of these poor creatures will go to the slaughterhouse, and we will get healthier at the same time. And reduce greenhouse gasses to boot!

You know, this cow article sounds kind of goofy, but I love it anyway. It's a great example of how people will see a problem and attack it from all sides. We humans are an ingenious, adaptable bunch of folks! Burping cows? Sure. Change the feed.

That's why I'm hopeful about the coming century! All these little fixes are going to add up to the continuation of our human culture ...
